About our Company
Encouraging Generosity Within the Building Industry
Who We Are….
Genbuild Group specialise in carpentry and apprentice hire services for residential and small scale commercial work. Turning young people into good carpenters is our goal, with an underlying agenda for their character to match their increasing skills.
This is achieved through hosting out apprentices throughout South East Queensland , running our own carpentry contracts as a "home base" and construction of client based or charity homes.
What We Do….
GenBuild Group desires to be a company within the building industry that operates with a generous spirit. We aim to use our skills as tradespeople to be generous in our own business operations and also to encourage our team to be generous.
We do this through a Workplace Giving Program that enables employees to easily donate to charities on a regular basis through our payroll system. With the participation of our employees, including our apprentices, we also construct charity homes that will be auctioned off with profit being donated to a not-for-profit organisation.
Our team is a diverse bunch! Our team consists of 21 apprentices, between 4 - 7 tradesmen (depending on our workload) 10 hosting companies and one very busy bookkeeper. But we are all committed to our company goals of being generous and encouraging generosity within the building industry.
Matt Urquhart is a director of Charity Build Group and carpenter/supervisor for GenBuild. He is a carpenter who surfs… or a surfer who is a carpenter! Either way Matt is hard working, efficient and professional. He is committed to seeing GBG grow into a company that provides the opportunity to train a large number of apprentices in a carpentry trade but more importantly into valuable members of society.
Reid Anderton is a director of GBG. He enjoys hanging out with his growing family, riding his bike (occasionally) and investing time and energy into the building industry. He hopes GBG can provide a quality service within the construction industry and plenty of dollars to charities making a difference in the lives of children and disadvantaged community members.
Matt Rafton is a GenBuild carpenter/supervisor. He enjoys the simple pleasures in life such as spending time with family, good food, being active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He is a hard working, professional carpenter who takes pride in the work he does. Matt has a passion to see GenBuild fulfil its goal as a company in having a positive impact within the construction industry, as well as helping those in need.
Haydn Hedges is our newest carpenter for GenBuild. After finishing his apprenticeship through GenBuild, Haydn wants to make a positive impact in the construction industry though Charity Build. One of his highlights of working for GenBuild is seeing the growth of our apprentices, and watching them learn new skills and make that positive impact.
Bek has worked in administration and finance for over 25 years. She is a certified Xero partner and has extensive knowledge of MYOB systems. Bek has worked extensively with not for profits and charity organisations managing their admin finance processes and sits on a number of boards as treasurer. Bek's clients are from a wide range of industries such as landscaping, physiotherapy, education, health, warehousing and building & construction.
Matt, Matt, Haydn and Reid have a combined experience in residential construction (new homes), extensions, renovations and small scale commercial jobs. They have a passion to see young men and woman develop into good carpenters and even better people and to provide quality service throughout the building industry.
